Minecraft now works with Gear VR

Good news for any early adopters of the Gear VR – you can now explore Minecraft's beautiful blocky vistas with your phone strapped to your face.

Mojang has detailed the mobile edition of Minecraft's current VR capabilities of their site. The Oculus Rift version, revealed late last year, is still being worked on.

The Gear VR compatible version of Minecraft has all the same features as the Pocket edition, and features cross-platform play with the non-VR mobile and Windows 10 editions of the game.

Mojang recommends running the game on more recent Samsung models, like the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S6. The official Minecraft website features some further tips for how to ensure the ideal Minecraft VR experience.

Minecraft is still selling 10,000 units every day, and is unlikely to stop selling any time soon.
