New Cars 3 Trailer Arrives, Watch It Here

Today during the Daytona 500, Pixar aired a new "extended look" for Cars 3, which opens in theaters on June 16 and features the voices of a lot of NASCAR drivers and personalities.

The new trailer shows off some of the "next generation" racers that Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) will have to go up against. It looks like that will be a tall order; here's the trailer:

The first teaser for Cars 3 showed the character McQueen getting into a horrible wreck, somersaulting through the air, and crashing down back onto the track, pieces of the car flying every which way. "From this moment, everything will change," the video said. This new trailer shows some of that, too.

The movie's official description reveals the first story details, suggesting the plot will be about McQueen's recovery after this horrible crash.

"Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves," reads a line from the description. "To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez, with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn't through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing's biggest stage!"
