Fortnite shopping carts have been disabled and re-enabled five times since their release

Epic Games is just not having the best time with the new Fortnite shopping carts.

In case you've somehow missed it, shopping carts were added to Fortnite with patch v4.3 on May 30, making them the game's first vehicles.

Unfortunately, thanks to several glitches discovered by the game's community, Epic Games had to disable them on June 10, before re-enabling them once again with patch v4.4.1 on June 14.

Sadly, this wasn't the end of it. While everyone was reeling from this year's busy E3, Epic decided to disable shopping carts early on Sunday due to a bug.

On Wednesday, shopping carts returned, only to disappear yet again on the same day. This is Epic's most recent update on the situation, though the developer doesn't go into detail as to why this keeps happening.

Due to ongoing issues, we'll be disabling Shopping Carts again. We'll update you when this issue is resolved.

The more likely explanation is that someone keeps coming across one glitch or another using the carts. At which point, Epic has no choice but to take them down until a fix is issued, before the same cycle repeats itself when the updated version is released..

This particular situation is not unique to Fortnite, but Epic's fast turnaround is what makes it seem like a bigger deal than it probably is.

If you're not paying too much attention to the shopping carts ordeal, you'll probably be more interested in looking for those seven Hungry Gnomes, or searching the chests in Salty Springs.
