Totally enjoyed the entire game from the detective start, to escaping the horror in the marsh refinery, and the scare scenes, fantastic cosmic locations, great feeling once major obstacles have been overcome, the ship was an amazing part of game, where Cthulhu himself surfaces to rock the ship to almost destruction, shame that the wizards on the beach were not visible but there's a graphic representation you can aquire from the net which gives you some pointers, as I didn't want the modification patch which let's you accomplish the task after the third wave, so I used the graph instead, the patch is just a pure cheat, although it did take me around six times to blast them with the onboard canon, that you'll definitely need to use to blast Cthulhu back below the waves whilst in between blasts hold onto the rail or in fact I think you're best to stay at the forefront of the ship wait until he surfaces there as he will be drawn there by your presence there, don't run around the deck trying to dodge him shaking the ship violently or you'll die from being knocked all over the place, just crouch at the forefront of the ship then when he surfaces run back to the canon and blast the devil out of him, you'll need 5-6 successful strikes until he roars in pain and falls beneath the waves, then there'll be a cut scene and then you'll wake up on the island.
Seriously underrated game seeing as it was released in 2005-6, then again I am a writer and have read most of HP Lovecrafts stories so I just loved it, I've played it five or six times already.
I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes sneaky detective work with no weapons {til you reach the cop station}, then you don't need to run and hide as much you can fight back.

I used this game to play in the dark hours of the night until almost dawn with headphones on and anti-ailiasing set to the max, and a resolution of 21 ....
