This game has a slightly different take on the open world RPG fantasy style, the graphic style and audio is very grounded in historical fashions and architecture and open rural areas look very good. This gives the game a very atmospheric feel with bustling towns and villages and well populated forest areas. The story lines and side quests are very well led in the narrative and cut scenes and there is always plenty to do. The voice acting is very good , however the animation of the mouths of the player and NPC's lets it down, its a bit....Wallace and Gromit at times.....
The levelling up and skill trees are a bit different to usual RPG's and some skill points only being granted every few levels. This makes things a little slow to progress at times and is felt through being unable to access certain areas and by the time you are able you may not remember where they areas the game area is large!
Movement and combat is good with ranged and melee options being able to used at the same time and are varied by the class systems in place,though these are able to be customised.
Each story line has different ways to be approached and completed which affect outcomes with the game overall due to the faction system.
Character customisation is very good and detailed customisation of clothing and weapons is an excellent idea and can be applied to your NPC party members also.

The game has many many hours of play possibly in the hundreds depending on your play style, so the lower price makes it a very good buy for someone wanting open world, RPG, customisation, character led game with a new style.

I pre-ordered GreedFall because the developers are great fans of Dragon Age, and they wanted to create a game that fans could play while waiting for DA4.

It's not a perfect game, but it's made by a small team. There are issues with lipsync and it can be annoying playing as female de Sardet because she's sometimes referred to as "he".

However, the story, characters and quest structure are all brilliant. It's a shame they aren't making any DLC for it. If you like Dragon Age and Mass Effect, this would be a great game for you.

I love the premise to this game - visiting a far off land to look for a cure to a mysterious illness - and the story is certainly intriguing. There haven't been many good RPGs lately, so I was quite interested when this came out.

Things I liked:
- Interesting story
- Unusual time period
- Most games either go for an ancient setting or post-modern, this is set in the 1600s, which is unique for many games
- A certain amount of customisation
- you can upgrade weapons/armour etc.
- Your decisions and choices have a definite impact on the outcome of the game
- Variety of different classes
- mage, warrior etc.
- The natives have a constructed language which sounds authentic

Things I didn't like:
- A lot of running around doing nothing
-one quest involved talking to one person, going to talk to another, going to find something, reporting back to the latter, reporting back to the original person. That was the whole mission. I felt like it was just dragging out the hours played for the sake of it.
- Not a true open world game
- you can't walk across the map - each area has to be loaded à la Dragon Age Inquisition
- The enemies are limited and there aren't many different varieties
- Despite being able to find and customise weapons, there isn't anything that stands out as amazing or particularly unique

All in all, I generally enjoyed this game, although I found myself bored at certain points. It's in a similar vein to Dragon Age but a lot more basic. I'd love to see this developer grow and improve on their concepts but, as with all things, I imagine, that's down to budget constraints. This series has the potential to be great.

I have just completed the Greedfall game after 60 + hours. I did enjoy the game however I had to really persevere especially with the opening few hours of the game which has a lot of running around doing various quests for people which are pointless in places. This has to be done before you can travel to explore the Island of Teer Fradee. I think if it wasn’t for the lockdown I would have seriously lost interest and probably wouldn’t have carried on.

When you finally get to Teer Fradee the island is beautiful and mystical. The graphics are incredible and has a Skyrim like style theme to it. The main story is interesting however is frustrating at times as you have to help various different allies to achieve your goals. The trouble is the majority of the allies you encounter are hostile and quite irritating to deal with. The cut scenes are long winded and instead of getting straight to the point there is so much needless running around doing jobs for people are rude and arrogant.

The skills matrix is also very frustrating. You have 3 skills maps to gain points for. The trouble is it’s impossible to max out any of the attributes/talents/ skills as there is not enough missions / side requests to gain points to complete all 3 skills matrix’s.

The open world travelling is also very frustrating. The open world is very restricted. Each area of the map has it’s own section which you have to load every time you visit a certain area. You can’t roam around freely like in Skyrim or a Fallout game. This is very frustrating especially on side quests as you have to go back and forth to various sections which has to keep stopping in order to load areas of the map. The maps also do not have that much variation. All the cities have the same layout and the native areas are all the same. The beasts you encounter are all similar and combat is very repetitive.

I did enjoy the game in places but if it wasn’t for the current lockdowns I would have not had the patience or time to persevere with this game. It’s a great idea and storyline but if made in the same layout as Skyrim or fallout would have made this game incredible.
