Joe Manganiello was set to star as the villain Deathstroke in The Batman when Ben Affleck was still attached to write and direct. Those plans have changed, but it sounds like Warner Bros. has even bigger plans for Manganiello now.
The Wrap says that The Raid helmer Gareth Evans is in early discussions to write and direct a Deathstroke movie, which will star Joe Manganiello. No word yet on if this will be part of the DC Films Universe or the new brand of non-connected DC movies that Warner Bros. is launching soon.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed this story with their own sources, and Gareth Evans posted a photo of a Deathstroke comic on Instagram three days ago:
