[18-10-2016] PC Patch notes for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Patch build 592.1
[UPDATE 24-10-2016] Today we are enabling Multi-GPU support for DirectX 12 for AMD Radeon™ hardware only.

We are working directly with NVIDIA to finalize Multi GPU support for GeForce® users.
Until then players on NVIDIA hardware that want to try the Multi-GPU Preview on DirectX 12 can switch to the dx12_mgpu_preview beta branch in Steam to enable it.

We advise players with AMD Radeon™ Multi-GPU capable systems to make sure that you have the latest drivers installed and have Crossfire turned ON in your Radeon Settings.

-----------------------------------------------------------

We have just released another PC patch for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, v1.10 build 592.1_P10. This patch focusses on fixes for a couple of gameplay and DirectX 12 related issues raised by the community.

This patch will be applied by Steam automatically when you next start the game. If your game does not update, please restart the Steam client.

The following gameplay changes are in this patch:
  • Fixed regression that was introduced in last patch: Walking speed is now fixed properly.
  • Fixed regression that was introduced in last patch: Talos Rucker no longer spawns twice.
  • AMD intro video now has a lower volume.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking on some interactive objects, such as computers or keypads, could cause Jensen to unholster his weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where some users had to create a new Windows account to be able to start the game.
  • Fixed a crash when loading a savegame.
  • Fixed an issue where SSAO could introduce some graphical artifacts.
  • Fixed an issue in Breach where the Booster Pack open button would not be shown, even though the user had Booster Packs to open.
  • Fixed issues with the dialogue selection wheel.

The following DirectX 12 changes are in this patch:
  • Improved stability and performance.
  • Major improvement to loading times.

DirectX 12 support in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided:
  • You can toggle DirectX 12 from either the launcher window or from the Display options within the game.
  • Note that DirectX 12 requires a restart of the game if (de-)activated from within a running game session. WARNING: Using the DirectX 12 API can offer better performance on some systems, however, it will not be beneficial on all. If you encounter problems with DirectX 12, we recommend turning it off again. There are no visual or gameplay differences between the two DirectX versions.
  • Multi-GPU Note: Currently we only support Single GPU on DirectX 12, see below for more details about Multi-GPU.
DirectX 12 Multi-GPU support in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided:
DirectX 12 Multi-GPU support is being released as a preview through the dx12_mgpu_preview branch on steam.
We are aware that some systems might still experience issues. Please let us know when you are experiencing issues.

To activate Multi-GPU DirectX 12 you are required to do the following:
  • Within your Steam Library, right-click on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
  • Select ‘properties’ from the context menu and navigate to the Beta tab.
  • From the dropdown menu, select dx12_mgpu_preview then close the window.
Third party software interference with DirectX 12
If you are experiencing problems using DirectX 12, please try disabling any 3rd party applications that might interfere with the game.

Such as:
  • Steam Overlay.
  • AMD Gaming Evolved.
  • NVIDIA GeForce Experience.
  • Fraps.
  • MSI Afterburner.
  • Any other game recording or streaming application.
  • Any other application that displays an overlay on top of the game.
Note about using Stereoscopic 3D on DirectX 12
Stereoscopic 3D requires different settings for DirectX 11 and DirectX 12:
  • DirectX 11 requires Exclusive Fullscreen to be active.
  • DirectX 12 requires Exclusive Fullscreen to be inactive.
Make sure that your drivers are up to date:
- AMD driver: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-Edition-16-10-1-Release-Notes.aspx
- NVIDIA driver: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on older versions, we have made a Beta for build v1.9_build582.1 available on Steam that can be used to switch back to previous versions.

We will keep monitoring for feedback and will release further patches as it seems required. We always welcome your feedback!

And this is the 3rd patch that does not fix the 21:9 UI interface which deforms all round UI elements like eggs. What is so hard at setting a correct AR to the UI elements? I don't get it. Almost 3 months since release and still no proper 21:9 gaming monitor support for a AAA title that costs 60 bucks or more? Is it really THAT hard to buy a single 21:9 monitor for one of your testers/coders to once and for all fix all these problems?
Greatest fix known to mankind:

-AMD intro video now has a lower volume.

Not sure what the hell is wrong but it's really a long update for a 90MB patch. I don't know how your patching works but my download stopped at 8MB and now my disk is working hard...

Can you please fix the tesselation bug that makes the npc faces look like they're melting?

They always do that. Steam likes to replace dozens of files for some reason.

I am getting 0 activity on my second card using dx12_mgpu_preview.
I've tried it with Crossfire set to both on and off in the Catalyst control centre. Exclusive and non-exclusive fullscreen. DX12 definitely set to on. I've turned off Steam overlay and MSI/FRAPS etc. Using 16.10.1 driver.

I'm using an R9 290X and an R9 290.

Assuming MGPU does work with (slightly) mixed cards, if someone could tell me whether I should actually have crossfire turned on or off, I'll then run the game again and upload logs.

(I've reposted this here as the previous beta thread has been closed and this went unanswered).

Well I am now at 19 minutes of patching... I had another game updating today, 50 MB and it was done in like 30s. It is not about the download (10MB/s peaks) but the patch is downloaded by small chunks then the disk goes into high usage for long periods.
