There is no option in the installer not to install widescreen patches, I prefer 4:3 because FMVs are stretched in widescreen. Can you update the installer or at least tell how to restore the original aspect ratio?

Edit the XIII.ini and look for "Fullscreen" to change resolution. About the FOV, open DefUser.ini and adapt both "FOV" lines (default value for 4:3 aspect ratio: 85). Create a new profile to apply the new FOV settings.

Thank you very much for the fast response.

I ask you to update the mod description to inform users of stretching which occurs in widescreen.

Do you know where mouse sensitivity value is stored? I only see "MenuMouseSens=1.500000" in XIII.ini. Sensitivity is extremely high in the game, as an avid FPS player I had to drop my mouse DPI to 200 which apparently isn't supported well by optical mice.

In DefUser.ini:
MouseX=Axis aMouseX Speed=6.0
MouseY=Axis aMouseY Speed=6.0

MouseSensitivity=3.000000

When I install the patch I can't save the game anymore. A clean gog install allows me to make a save, but after the patch is installed the save game button is greyed out and clicking it does nothing. Anything I can do on my end to fix it? As Widescreen is great and all, but if I can't save the game it's unplayable for me.

It's fixed for the next update. For now, use the workaround as described there: Gog.com

By the way, if you happened to have lost essential progress already, you can always skip any mission: Gog.com

Thanks for the new patch. It works very well on my side. :)

I have one little suggestion for maybe another small update: during the installation it would be nice if you could manually pick the resolution you want to use in the game.

For example I'm playing in 2560 x 1440 but I can't pick that one. The only way for me is to edit the ini file after the installation is complete.

Not a big deal but I thought it would still be nice if you could skip that part by picking the resolution you want during the install/update progress.

Thanks for keeping XIII alive in 2019.

Kind regards
Berzerk2k2

I could solve the problem myself.

Hi guest,
the multiplayer profile settings don't apply to bot-only matches.

You can, however, change your skin mid-game via the SetSkin console command (and also the bot's skins with the respective commands).

Press F2 to use it and to display a list of available console commands.

Best Regards
Arthur

Thank you so much for the new update!

I am having problems with mouse sensitivity, though.
Lowering it in the ini file does nothing.
Also, it seems that The vertical sensitivity is higher that the horizontal one.

Any suggestion?

Open "DefUser.ini" from the game's System folder and set "bMaxMouseSmoothing" to "False". This should eliminate most of unwanted mouse stirring.

To effectively apply the change, create a new profile.

Hi, with patch applied I was able to run game in 2560x1080, which is awesome, but it seems that game forces 75Hz refresh rate, which is unsupported by my monitor and leads seemingly to some flicker/stutter.

Can this be restrained to 60Hz in some ini? Thanks.

Open XIII\System\XIII.ini in an editor and search for
UseVSync=False
and turn it to True.

If the issue still occurs, try to force VSync in your actual graphics settings.

Thanks for answer. In the meantime I reainstalled OS (unrelated) and installed newest nVidia drivers, now then problem seemingly vanished (my monitor no longer reports unsupported refresh rate when I start XIII).

But another, minor question emerged, this is just for pure curiosity: somehow, an FPS counter was being shown in corner before reinstall, but now it's gone. Is this a feature of game, which can be enabled somewhere (previously I did not turn it on myself, at least not intentionally - it somehow mysteriously appeared)?

The patch introduces three new shortcuts:
F3 - Show network settings (in multiplayer sesssions)
F4 - Show FPS
F11 - Toggle fullscreen/window

Hey buddy, great to see you livin' up your nostalgia again! :) Enjoy!

No sequel, but an upcoming remake of the original by an other company and most likely a true continuation afterwards if the remake turns out to be selling well.

Use the installer with the "upgrade" option to patch up your XIII installation and it will have built-in multiplayer support.

There's a community in the InsideXIII.com Discord where people meet up for multiplayer sessions and talk about the upcoming remake.

Hey thanks a lot for this much-needed patch but there is something I don't understand, sometimes when I launch the game fps is capped at 50 and some other times it is capped at 120.
How can I make it so it stays capped at 120 making my mouse movement smoother.

Wow that's actually really weird, when I have Chrome running I go up to 120 and when I close it goes down to 50. What's the logic behind that?!

For some reason the map editor doesn't work. It doesn't open, and setting compatibility mode for Windows XP doesn't fix the problem.

Where can i find a list of console commands? I either want to try and add bots to LAN or change my skin in Bot Challenge, Thanks so much for this mod!

Open a multiplayer session, then press F2 for the console and the command list.

In case the list doesn't show up immediately, open and close the ESC menu and press F2 again. The list should be now visible.

Hello I've been trying the patch and it's working great for me. Thanks for it!
The only issue is that it sets the resolution to 1080p and I'm using a 4K monitor, I was able to change that in XII.ini but the UI doesn't scale up and I can't seem to find where I can change it. How can I do that?

You can use dgVoodoo2 to stretch out a small in-game resolution (e.g. 1280x960) to your native screen resolution.

Yes, it does.
When the installer asks for the path, verify it's pointed to the correct location, which normally should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XIII - Classic".

It shouldn't miss any unless the OS lacks some common redistributables or something.
What is it anyway?

Anyone know why my game would be capped at 100fps? If you switch from fullscreen to windowed and back again you can see it hit 130fps then pop right back to 100fps. I've gone through the ini files and there's nothing about any framerate options.

To apply the patch, you have to install it in the game's directory. For Steam, the default directory is something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XIII - Classic\".
