Doom, Rage join Xbox Game Pass

After days of speculation, Doom is finally available on Xbox Game Pass. According to Xbox Wire, Rage for Xbox 360 is also tagging along. According to various reports on Reddit, Microsoft began sending out some promotional emails stating that Doom would join the service a few days ago. However, the company nor Bethesda provided confirmation. It was unclear if the Reddit image was a hoax or not.

Luckily, that changed today because Microsoft announced Doom and Rage for Xbox Game Pass during QuakeCon 2018. The announcement was followed by a lot of other information about games like Fallout 76 and Rage 2. Doom's sequel, Doom Eternal, also got a gameplay premiere which showcased some brutal footage.

Doom was developed by id Software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre all those years ago. The franchise returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooting experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fluid movement provide the foundation for intense combat whether you're obliterating demonic hordes through the depths of Hell.

Rage is a first-person shooter which takes place in a post-apocalyptic future. Following a catastrophic asteroid impact, Earth is in ruin and numerous individuals are put into underground hibernation. Unfortunately, events don't go according to plan and the surface is overrun by mutants and an oppressive organization known as "The Authority". It's up to you to liberate everyone and dismantle the oppressive regime.

Xbox Game Pass membership costs $9.99 each month so be sure to check it out if you want a Netflix-style subscription for games. Unlike competing services, the titles download to your system so there's no streaming involved. Consumers don't have to worry about lag or image quality.
