New Fallout 76 patch launches on PC tomorrow, consoles next week

Fallout 76 is a shared-world multiplayer survival game for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. The title marks an all-new direction for Bethesda's establishing post-apocalyptic role-playing series, allowing groups of survivors to explore, build settlements, and uncover secrets of West Virginia. It's a multiplayer experience which requires you to work together and form alliances.

A new patch will launch for PC players on January 10, 2019. It includes a number of bug fixes and addresses other issues. You can read the official statement from Bethesda below.

Containing more than 150 fixes, the patch will now land on PC beginning tomorrow and consoles early next week. Similar to what we did with the December 11 patch, placing it on PC first will give us time to make further adjustments as needed before releasing the patch on consoles. We will communicate if there are any further diversions from the schedule. PC players, please note that tomorrow, January 10 at 9 AM ET, Fallout 76 will be receiving this update at which time we will also post the patch notes. Last week we mentioned that we would be starting the new year with new patches. The first of those will be coming January 14. Like the December 11 update, this patch will address many issues raised by the community as well as continue focus on improving performance and stability. Beyond Monday's patch, we're working on another patch that we hope will hit near the end of the month. This patch will continue to add fixes for issues being voiced by the community, including the number of plans Vendors have available, fixing a few Legendary mods, and continuing to address issues with some Perks. We know you're eager for new content and new ways to play Fallout 76. We're still not quite ready to share details, but we can say that the time between the announcement of our next major update and its release will be very short. Our goal is to get the content in your hands as quickly as possible so we can iterate, improve, and make any needed changes based on your feedback.

We'll update you as soon as the patch notes are released. Apart from that, the Fallout Classic Collection is now available to download if you own Fallout 76 on any platform. To install the package, just follow the steps below.

  • Step 1: Download and run the Bethesda Launcher for PC.
  • Step 2: Sign in to Bethesda.net with your account credentials.
  • Step 3: Install the Fallout Classic Collection titles from the Games menu.

Hopefully the year will bring meaningful changes to Fallout 76. The performance on Xbox One X still isn't great, so that should be a priority going forward. What do you want to see in Fallout 76? Let us know.
