UK Games Chart: Round 2 at the Top for Mortal Kombat X

Publisher Warner Bros' latest fighting game, Mortal Kombat X, has retained its position atop the UK all-format chart.

The game, developed by Chicago studio NetherRealm, set a new sales record last week when it debuted at the top. According to UK sales monitor Chart-Track, Mortal Kombat X is the fastest-selling entry in the series' 23-year history.

It managed to hold off Grand Theft Auto V, which retains second place due, in part, to its recent release on PC.

No key new releases means the chart shows a familiar composition, with the likes of FIFA, Battlefield Hardline, and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare featuring in the top ten. Minecraft sales on PS4 jumped 172%, thanks to a PS4 bundle deal.
