New Hearthstone Expansion The League of Explorers Announced

Today during the BlizzCon 2015 opening ceremony, Blizzard Entertainment announced the next Hearthstone expansion. It's called The League of Explorers and adds new cards and a fresh mechanic called "Discover." The announcement comes as Hearthstone's player base climbed to 40 million users.

You won't have to wait too long to play League of Explorers, however, as its first wing arrives on November 12.

"Explore Azeroth's most mysterious archaeological sites and discover ancient treasures," Blizzard said in a newly launched website for League of Explorers. "Travel alongside famous treasure hunter Brann Bronzebeard and his merry band of intrepid action-archeologists on a race to uncover the pieces of the Staff of Origination, a priceless, ancient artifact. But beware, for you are not the only one who's hunting the artifact. Others have picked up the scent as well, so you'll have to play your cards right to stay one step ahead of the competition and keep the Staff of Origination from falling into the wrong hands!"

League of Explorers comes with four wings of new cards, featuring "fiendish bosses, puzzling traps, and ancient mysteries for you to discover." There are also new legendary cards to collect, including Elise Starseeker. In addition, League of Explorers packs in new class challenges, more game boards, and a new keyword, the aforementioned Discover. It also comes with an "extra-tough" Heroic Mode.
