Witcher 3 Dev Is "Focusing On Cyberpunk 2077"
Developer CD Projekt Red has revealed that most of the staff in its studio are now contributing to the development of anticipated sci-fi role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077. Speaking to GameSpot in an interview, lead quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz discussed the studio's current focus on the anticipated sci-fi RPG.
"We are focusing on Cyberpunk 2077. It is a very ambitious and big project, and we need all the people we can get to finish it. A lot of the people in the company are , and more and more are getting involved in it... most people from the company are involved with this," Tomaszkiewicz said.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that the studio is dedicating the majority of its staff to the game, given that CD Projekt previously said that Cyberpunk 2077 is "far, far bigger than The Witcher 3." Details on the game have been scarce, although the studio did say that it was not planning to discuss it until 2017 at the earliest, choosing to focus on The Witcher 3 instead.
CD Projekt Red is also currently working on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's second expansion, titled Blood and Wine. The expansion is expected to launch in the first half of 2016. According to Tomaszkiewicz, it will have "double the amount of content of the first expansion pack." Blood and Wine will introduce a new region to the game that will contain "a lot more side quests, a lot more things to explore and find."
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released in May this year and was highly praised in GameSpot's review, where it scored a ten out of ten. Following the game's launch, CD Projekt Red has released several free DLC packs and an expansion, Hearts of Stone.
