Call of Duty Tops UK Chart as FIFA 16 and Battlefront Vie for Xmas No. 1
One week ahead of the official count for the Christmas UK games charts, Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has emerged at the top of the stack.
Following in second place is Star Wars Battlefront, a game that appears to be capitalising on the moviegoer hysteria for Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, which premieres in cinemas this week.
In third place is FIFA 16, which if it makes number one next week would mark the ninth time EA's flagship soccer sim has taken the Christmas charts.
Sales monitor Chart-Track has cited these three games as frontrunners for the Christmas number one. Due to the nature of the Gregorian calendar, 2015 is unusual insofar as it stretches across 53 weeks. Because of this, this year's Xmas number one will be determined two weeks before the year ends.
Elsewhere in the charts, Fallout 4 drops one place to fourth and Telltale Games' Minecraft: Story Mode rises two places to fifth. EA's The Sims 4: Get Together is this week's only new entry, debuting at No38.
