Registration now open for the new Nintendo Account and Miitomo

You can now register for Nintendo's new account and Miitomo service.

Nintendo Account, the successor to Nintendo's Network ID, is now open for registration. As promised, you can either create a new account, or sign in with your existing Nintendo ID, Facebook, Twitter, or Google Plus login.

Right now, there's not a lot of reasons to register for one. Down the line, Nintendo will be using this new system as a way of unifying all of its account systems.

You'll also need one if you're looking to register for Miitomo, the company's social network, or to earn rewards with the My Nintendo programme.
