Street Fighter 5 Server Update Improves Matchmaking and Lobbies

Street Fighter V has been experiencing some issues since its launch last week. Its received a number of updates, and its latest focuses on matchmaking and the game's lobby system, Battle Lounges.

Capcom director of digital media and esports Matt "Haunts" Dahlgren announced the update on the publisher's blog, saying "most players should be matched up with opponents at a quicker rate than before." Dahlgren notes that the server team is aware of players in Europe, the Middle East, and other territories who are still experiencing issues with the game's slow matchmaking, and they'll continue to work towards solutions to improve it.

If you've been playing Street Fighter V, you may have been kicked out of a Battle Lounge unexpectedly. Dahlgren says players should no longer be kicked out of lounges once they're connected, though he notes there are still improvements that need to be made.

"The ability to search and join Battle Lounges still needs improvement as it is not functioning as intended," Dahlgren explained. "We'll be looking at this over the coming weeks and hope to fix the issue soon."

Street Fighter V received a score of 7 in our review, which commended its excellent fight system but lamented its lack of training options and insubstantial story mode.
