BioShock Remasters Run at 1080p/60fps, Free PC Upgrade Offer Detailed

After lots of rumors and leaks, 2K Games has officially announced BioShock: The Collection, which includes remastered versions of BioShock, BioShock 2, and BioShock: Infinite. Now, a 2K representative confirmed with GameSpot that all of the games run at 1080p and "up to" 60 fps across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Additionally, PC players may be able to get The Collection free. If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, and/or the Minerva's Den BioShock 2 DLC on Steam, you can get a free upgrade to the remastered version of BioShock or BioShock 2.

As announced previously, BioShock and BioShock 2 are being remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, while Infinite is only getting a remastered version for consoles. The Collection for PC does include Infinite, but this will be the regular, non-remastered version.

In addition to the games and all DLC, The Collection comes with a director's commentary program called Imagining BioShock, featuring director Ken Levine and lead artist Shawn Roberston. One other thing to note is that BioShock 2's multiplayer is not included.

The compilation is being developed by Blind Squirrel Games, which collaborated with Irrational Games on the development on the original release of BioShock Infinite. You can see some images from the collection in the gallery above.

It $60 and launches in North America on September 13, Australia on September 15, and internationally on September 16.
