Celebrate Wrecking Ball's release with a free Overwatch weekend on PC

Anyone wishing to experience the joy of Overwatch's new hamster hero can do so on PC for free this Thursday.

Overwatch's new hero, Wrecking Ball, will be smash his way into the game later this week. Thankfully, you'll be able to experience his moves even if you haven't purchased the game.

Blizzard has confirmed it will host a free PC weekend from July 26-30 (thanks Eurogamer). Players will gain access to all 28 heroes, all 18 maps, and various gameplay modes.

Anyone with a Blizzard account will be able to download Overwatch and start leveling up. If you purchase the game afterwards, your stats and progress will carry over to the full game. The exception is achievements, which have been disabled for the free weekend.

Otherwise, players will be able to access Quick Play, Play vs. AI, Custom Game, and Arcade modes for the duration of the event. Overwatch's free weekend will begin on July 26 at 11:00 am PDT, and ends on July 30 at 11:59 pm PDT.
