Square Enix ha annunciato Star Ocean: First Departure R, il remake del remake del primo Star Ocean in sviluppo per PS4 e Nintendo Switch.. Square Enix ha annunciato Star Ocean: First Departure R per PS4 e Nintendo Switch, il remake in alta definizione del remake per PSP del primo Star Ocean risalente al 2007. Il gioco dovrebbe comunque avere delle nuove caratteristiche, non ancora annunciate.
