Phoenix Point, from XCom designer Julian Gollop, is releasing in September – here's the latest trailer

Phoenix Point finally has a firm release date.

A new cinematic trailer for Phoenix Point has been shown off during an Inside Xbox stream today, giving us a release date and, uh, no additional gameplay footage. But we won't have to wait too long now, as the game is coming pretty soon.

Strangely, the trailer itself doesn't contain the exact release date beyond ‘September', but the official Phoenix Point Twitter account is a bit clearer on the matter – the game is coming September 3 for Xbox One, PC and Mac.

Last year the game was pushed back until June 2019 (that's this month!), but it then slipped further. Still, not so long to wait now.

On PC, the game will be an Epic Store exclusive for a full year.

Phoenix Point is a squad-based tactical game, much like the original XCom, and we're hopeful that it'll be an interesting one.
