Limited-Edition $100 Hardcover Released for Acclaimed Indie Fez

Fez, the acclaimed perspective-warping indie platformer that first shipped in 2012, is now available in a limited hardcover edition.

Only 500 copies will be printed, developer Polytron said on its shop page, adding that each one will be signed and numbered. The hardcover is bound in red canvas with a debossed gold foil inlay presented in a matching slipcase, the developer added, and priced at $100 in the US (UK £68). Each copy carries a DRM-free PC and Mac code, along with Disasterpeace's official soundtrack.

Critic Tom Mc Shea concluded: “It's worth putting up with the missteps for the wondrous adventure that awaits.”

Fez's project lead, Phil Fish, said in August 2014 that he was preparing to exit the games business and sell off the IP, following months of quarrels with people on social media. In the process, he cancelled work on the game's sequel, Fez II.

"I am done. I take the money and I run. This is as much as I can stomach," he said at the time.
