No Man's Sky E3 2015 Gameplay Shows Universe-Sized Sandbox

At PlayStation's E3 2015 press conference, Hello Games showed off live gameplay of its ambitious space sim No Man's Sky for the first time. Hello Games' founder, Sean Murray, began the demo in a hangar, then launched into an ongoing space battle. Murray claimed the game is a "universe-sized sandbox", and that these kinds of battles are taking place across that entire universe. Players will be able to take sides in those battles, which are being fought by warring factions. Or they can pick a star on the expansive universe map, and travel there to discover planets and lifeforms.

Once planetside, players need to find beacons to upload their discoveries to the wider universe. In the demo, we saw some sentinel robots attack Murray as he explored the planet, and modify the fully destructible terrain with a futuristic weapon.

No Man's sky still has no release date, but will be releasing first on PS4.
