Dragon Quest XI è tornato in cima alle classifiche di gradimento dei giocatori giapponesi, diventando ufficialmente il most anticipated game del 2017 dei lettori di Famitsu. Durante l'evento Jump Festa 2016 sono stati diffusi tonnellate di video e nuove immagini, e ciò, probabilmente, ha contribuito ad aumentare ulteriormente l'attesa per il JRPG di Square Enix.
