Monster Hunter World will arrive on PC this year, but you'll be waiting a good 7 months after the console release,

Monster Hunter World's PC release window has been narrowed down, and you're going to have to be patient.

Monster Hunter World PC development is ongoing, Capcom has assured hopeful players, and the team is currently optimising the action RPG for Steam launch.

Unfortunately, that process is going to take a while – the publisher has confirmed it's looking at an autumn 2018 PC release for Monster Hunter World.

Even taking the most optimistic view and pencilling in a September 1 launch, that's a pretty long wait from Monster Hunter World's late January release on consoles. Barring delays, we could be looking at a PC release as late as the end of November.

Still, it's pretty great that it's happening at all, since Japanese publishers are still coming around to the idea of the PC as a good home for blockbuster multi-platform titles. A game like Monster Hunter World, with an emphasis on multiplayer and high challenge level, should be right at home on PC when it does arrive.

Below you can watch a development update on the PC build of Monster Hunter World from producer Ryozo Tsujimoto.
