Fortnite Season 4 teases superheroes – start date, skins, battle pass details and everything else you need

Epic Games has begun to tease Fortnite Season 4, with a total of four skins shown so far in initial artwork.

With masks and muscular physiques we're pretty sure superheroes will be the theme for Season 4, carrying on from Season 3's Space theme. From the artwork we can also see a comet, which supports the theory that it's going to crash into the map and make changes to the landscape.

Meteorites have already begun to land on the map, hitting hard and taking out structures and building. The current theory is that a larger comet will hit the map and completely destroy at least one named location. Tilted Towers is expected to take a hit, but so is Dusty Depot.

We're currently in the final day of Fortnite Season 3, so expect all the details of Season 4 to drop very, very soon.
When does Fortnite Season 4 start?

Well, let's put it this way. Season 3 of Fortnite finishes on April 30. That's today! So you'd better start finishing those Week 10 challenges if you haven't already.

Epic has now confirmed that Fortnite Season 4 will begin on May 1. Expect server downtime for Fortnite from 8am GMT and for a few hours at least.

Epic has yet to share solid details on Fortnite Season 4, but we can expect it to be as tumultuous as Season 3.

Over the past 10 weeks Fortnite players have been handed new weapons while other have been nerfed, the addition of new resources like the vending machines, troublesome downtime and apologetic rewards, free outfits from the likes of Twitch and other popular skins that require a bunch of V-Bucks. Even now, days before the end of the season, Epic has thrown us sticky grenades.

And then there was the massive launch of Fortnite on mobile, which pulled in an extra $25 million on iOS for developer Epic.

It's fair to assume that Fortnite's Android release will be a priority, so expect it to go live during Season 4.

Then of course there's the rumour that just won't die: Tilted Towers is going to be destroyed by a comet. Considering it wasn't long ago that Epic added a bunch of new locations to Fortnite's map, it's not a stretch to see it nuke one entirely. It removes weapons it finds upset the balance, so it's the same principle.
How much does Fortnite's Season 4 Battle Pass cost?

We'd be surprised if the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass was more expensive than the last season. At 950 V-Bucks – £7.99 / $7.99 in real money – it's a perfect entry-level price. We also expect a return of the Battle Bundle, which cost 2800 V-Bucks (£19.99 / $19.99 in real money) but unlocked a couple of outfits instantly, as well as a trail, glider, bonus XP and more.

Season 3 increased the number of tiers to the Battle Pass too, so don't be surprised if than numbers rises from 100. We'll just have to keep an eye on that.
Fortnite Season 3 Weekly Challenges

If you're reading this and thinking, “damn, I haven't found all the creepy laughing gnomes” then do not worry. You still have time to clear up any outstanding weekly challenges, and we have a handy guide to every week and every awkward task on those lists. Fill your boots.
