Fortnite Challenges for Season 5 Week 5 have been leaked – get ahead of the game

The midweek ritual continues! Once again the Fortnite challenges have been leaked by dataminers early – this time we're on Season 5 Week 5.

This info comes from FortniteTracker on Twitter, who scour the game's files for unreleased items and challenges.

As usual with Season 5, the challenges are now split into two sections, Free and Battle Pass. Sometimes, Epic Games will change the line-up slightly from what's in the files, but a lot of the challenges are very likely to be the same.
Fortnite Season 5 Week 5 Challenges:
Free Challenges:

  • Search chests in Junk Junction – 7:

This one could be a little difficult to tick off early. There are only ten possible chest spawn locations in the main area of Junk Junction. To offset that, there are two in the giant wooden llama statue to the north that will count towards your progress. We have a full page on where to grab these chests, so use the link above for a guide.
  • Use Rift Portals – 3:

The wording on this challenge will probably change when it drops to be more clear. What you have to do is walk through any of the rift portals that you can find randomly throughout the Fortnite map. They shouldn't be too hard to find, and are extremely useful when assaulting people's bases in the late game. Plus you only have to come across three.
  • Eliminate opponents – 3:

Pretty straightforward, but if you're struggling in the core solo and duos modes, try jumping into one of the more chaotic LTMs. You should be able to pick off a few people more easily with that added element. For a twist, you could try completing this with the new double barrel shotgun.

Battle Pass Challenges:

  • Deal damage to players with a Clinger, Stink Bomb, or Grenade – 300:

This challenge looks a bit like a placeholder to us, seeing as we've already had an explosive challenge this season. But the advice remains the same, jump into an LTM where other players are distracted, focus on finding the weapon you need and use them liberally. You're only trying to deal damage, not eliminate players, so don't worry too much about finishing the job – just rack up as much damage as you can and this'll be done in a few games.
  • Hit a hole in one from different tees – 5:

The golf equivalent of the basketball challenge from a few weeks ago, you can equip the golf ball in your locker and use it like an emote. We've got a full guide of the locations, so follow the link above.
  • Follow the Treasure Map found in Greasy Grove:

This might just be a placeholder too, since a map in Greasy was one of the Season 4 week 5 challenges. We'll have a full guide up for the location ASAP.
  • Eliminate opponents in Shifty Shafts:

Shifty is a pretty popular location, but in the first week of the challenge dropping you really shouldn't need help finding people to battle here. If you go here straight from the Battle Bus, try and swoop down into the lower portion of the mine quickly so you can be first to the floor loot. This means you'll be ready and waiting for unsuspecting players that traipse down after you. Sneaky…

As for other Fortnite news, Android players could soon be in on the party. The Fortnite Android release date could be as soon as this week, with rumours hotting up that the game will be exclusive to Samsung for a limited time.
