Dishonored 2's Next Big Update Is Out Now, Here's Everything It Adds, Changes, And Fixes

Right on schedule, a free update for Bethesda's Dishonored 2 is launching today for all platforms that introduces a mission-select option and new difficulty settings, among other things.



The update is available today on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It launched last week in beta form on PC through Steam, but today is the full, official release.



The new Custom Difficulty settings include more than 20 sliders that players can leverage to change things like how many enemies might attack you at once or how quickly Sleep Darts take effect. These were two examples that Bethesda provided. Additionally, an ultra-challenging difficulty mode called Iron comes to the game. There is no saving or loading, so when you die you're dead forever and must restart.



This new Dishonored 2 update also adds the much-requested ability to choose a specific mission to replay. All of your progress that you had at the start of the mission--including your runes, money, and more--will be intact when you play the mission again.



Today's Dishonored 2 patch also fixes a lot of bugs, including one where Emily's feet could be seen floating when playing with high FOV settings on PC. There are also fixes for crash scenarios, as well as audio and collision issues. You can see the full patch notes below, as posted on Bethesda's website.



Additionally, Bethesda says there are "new and improved features based on player feedback" included with today's update.



The first major update for Dishonored 2 came out in December 2016, adding a New Game Plus mode.
