Destiny Xur update: should you buy Invective?

Xur brought a weapon this weekend with the usual haul. This weapon is an Exotic shotgun called Invective, which has been updated from Year 2.

In short: it's not great and our Destiny expert Alex isn't too hot on it. Its main perk allows it to generate its own ammo, which works great in PvP, especially with the recent balance changes.

One good way to utilise this is to equip it, have it generate Special Ammo, then switch to another Special you want to use. It also does Solar damage, which works great in activities where Solar burn is active.

Previously, you could get Invective only from Exotic bounties, so it's easier to get now more than ever, even if just for the collection.
