When Battlefield 1's Spectator Mode launches, it'll give you a bunch of new tools for making videos
Battlefield 1 is sure to produce a stack of water cooler moments. Record them, savour them and share them socially with a new set of creative tools.
Battlefield 1‘s new and improved Spectator Mode will launch with an update due “soon” after launch.
According to a post on the Battlefield blog, the mode will come with a new suite of creative tools on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Players can join Battlefield 1 matches in Spectator Mode and then decide how to view the action, including attaching cameras to specific players or vehicles while still moving them around to get the right framing and angle.
Camera behaviour can be tweaked or there's a free mode allowing you to switch between multiple pre-prepared shots. Camera settings include speed, sensitivity, field of view and depth of field, allowing for some nice film-like effects. Filters are available, too.
DICE gave a couple of community members early access to the new Battlefield 1 video tools so they could produce trailers showing them off. The one above is by Berduu, and the one below is from ShadowSixFilms.
Speaking of socially sharing Battlefield 1, did you see EA is streaming it every day this week? Tune in regularly to get a good old eyeball ahead of Battlefield 1's release late this month.
This year, the historically-minded Battlefield 1 is going toe-to-toe with the most futuristic Call of Duty so far. It's gonna be an interesting few weeks.
