Nier: Automata will feature some familiar weapons from Square Enix's other titles

In a nod to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, Nier: Automata will include a weapon from each series.

Nier: Automata is out next year and the newest bit of gameplay footage treats us to a peek at some familiar-looking weapons.

Final Fantasy 15's Engine Blade is going to make an appearance as well as Dragon Quest's Cypress Stick. Both seem pretty well suited for dishing out an ass-whooping.

As another fun bonus, any treasure chests you find with the Cypress Stick equipped will look like their Dragon Quest counterparts, as shown in the video.

Nier: Automata is scheduled for release in 2017 on PS4 and PC.
