Horrid Gold PS4 Controller Is Thankfully Only Available in One Store

Sony revealed a brand new DualShock 4 color today. However, you'll probably want to pick up a different one as the new Gold DualShock 4 is not very pretty.

The new $65 golden controller looks gaudy, but thankfully, you can avoid it altogether by staying away from GameStop. It will be sold exclusively at the video game retailer from November 21 to the end of May 2017.

The DualShock 4 is available in multiple colors, and we're unsure as to why you'd want to pick gold over any of them. Coincidentally, Microsoft revealed two new colors for the Xbox One controller today, and neither of them are gold.

The new, revised DualShock 4 will be available on September 15 in black, red, and blue, with gold coming months later. It features a front-facing light bar and USB communication support, in addition to Bluetooth. Otherwise, the controller is no different from the original DualShock 4.

The PS4 Pro launches November 10. It supports 4K and HDR gaming and can even enhance games on 1080p displays. However, it does not feature a 4K Blu-ray drive. For more stories and information on the PS4 Pro, check out GameSpot's news hub here.
